We spent 6 nights at the Karona in late March and had a fantastic time. The place was amazing value for money and we would recommend it to anyone, although people with mobility issues would need to request a ground floor room as there are a lot of stairs otherwise. The resort is in a handy and beautiful location right down the end of Karon Beach. The room was very large and was furnished beautifully and we had a great view as well. We found the staff generally provided great service and were very attentive. The free buffet breakfast was the hilight of my day! The restaurant was also great value for money as you get a progresive discount up to a maximum of 20% Would definitely go back. Although the place is only 3 stars it feels like much more. The only draw back was the taxi touts at the exit, although they're not as persistent as in other places. Would recommend to couples on a romantic holiday (as we were) or families!

We are from Scotland and stayed nine nights at the Karona Resort for our honeymoon. For a budget hotel, Karona is a magnificent choice. The rooms were nice and we had a great view of the ocean. The service was excellent, especially the restaurant staff. With just one hour notice, the restaurant staff organised a birthday cake for my husband to be presented to him while we were having dinner. The pool area was also great, with staff bringing drinks over to our sun lounges. We were extremely impressed and would recommend Karona to anyone.

We were so surprised about this hotel that we have to share how wonderful we thought it was. It was the best place we stayed in for our whole two weeks in Phuket. We got a room with pool entry off the balcony. Full buffet breakfast. Flowers on our bed and warm and friendly service, which goes without saying with most things to do with Thai people, but the Orchid seemed to be something extra. Only a short stroll to the beach and a couple of hundred baht to Patong, it was a great "quieter" location. The pool bar has a great decently priced selection and there is a large pool to go with. The buffet breakfast in our eyes was very well worth the price we paid for the room. To sum this place up: tt isn't for the pampered traveler who wants the world at their feet but it is great for the budget. Service is great and even the mini bar is a reasonable price. We are a couple with no kids but there were many families with children who seemed to enjoy their stay.

This hotel is great and perfect for family travelers. It has a very big swimming pool with various kinds of sliders and a rich playground. Our room had a direct access to the swimming pool from the balcony - this made it very convenient to look at what our kids are doing; check up on them. We had a lot of fun for the entire stay. Overall, I would say that this is the best hotel in Karon Beach for family tourists.

The kata beach has a very good location right on the beach. The area around is now more built up and busy. Rooms were comfortable but the area is very touristy, it used to be a very relaxing part of Kata.

The Hotel is a fantastic resort catering to many nationalities and both families with and without children. Access to Kata beach is right at your doorstep with no roads to cross or other obstacles to worry about. The rooms are spacious, well turned out, very clean and everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The beach is quieter than Patong but has jet skis, paragliding, banana boat, water sking all for rent should you want them. The beach has a variety of restaurants from the Mom Tris (the best restaurant on Phuket in my opinion) to other inexpensive cafe style restaurants. There are also few places to get massages (around BHT300 per hour), pedicures(BHT 100), manicures(BHT 100) and braiding (BHT1200 for whole head). A truly lovely place to spend a couple of weeks with your family, friends, or fiancee!

We had the superior rooms. Fantastic hotel - have stayed in 2 more in Phuket and 1 in Koh Samui and this was def the pick of the bunch. Had a pebbled bathroom floor with a massive shower and corner bath, separate toilet and room for the wife to 'beautify'! Bedroom opened out over the gardens and pools.

The service at this hotel is outstanding. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, you cant help but feel happy all the time as they constantly have smiles on their faces. The food at the hotel is exceptional, although expensive. We also dined at the Boathouse (sister hotel) and had the 4 course meal - truly recommended. This was so delicious! For the quality and quantity of the food, we were thoroughly impressed. The only thing I can say is this hotel is not for children, it really does not cater for them. It is more of a honeymooners/couples hotel. There were 3 weddings whilst we were there alone! The beach which is reached by steps from the hotel is exquisite, I thought it was the best beach on the island. The umbrellas and beach chairs are provided by the hotel. The highlight of this hotel is that they really make you feel at home, it is a boutique hotel, I think there are a total of about 36 rooms and the attention to detail is first class. We can honestly say this was our best holiday yet and we intend to return here again sometime.

Major downside is that beach is too far, although shuttle service is provided, honestly didnt feel like waiting, so took a taxi or walked instead. Wanted to stay somewhere populated and noisy, certainly got that here. Varied breakfast, plenty of other restaurants + shops on the street nearby. Kept my options open and i often went outside for a meal, to do some exquisite shopping. Hard beds in the room, something widespread throughout thai hotels it seems. I think its great value for money.
