Rembrandt Hotel, Bangkok

Nice stay

The Rembrandt is a nice place to stay at if you're in Bangkok. The hotel is modern and the rooms are nice and tidy. Breakfast buffet is great here. It's very close to the sky train and the Sukhumvit area is central and a good starting point for sight-seeing.

Rembrandt Hotel, Bangkok

Overall, a very pleasant stay

We thought this hotel was excellent. We stayed here for 3 days. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and the rooms were very nice. Very clean, with good views and nicely decorated. The lobby of the hotel is quite impressive. The Indian restaurant on the top floor has amazing views of the city. Although expensive, the food in the restaurant is very good, and it is worth eating there just for the views and the excellent service. The rooms themselves we thought were very good value for money. The drinks in the hotel, and the hotel restaurants are expensive by Bangkok standards. The taxi drivers who congregate on the street outside the hotel can be a little annoying, touting for business every time you walk past.

Great location, suited us well, safe for our 9-yr-old son to go out to the supermarket, etc., on his own, good choice of places to eat. We tended to eat out where the locals ate, and had some excellent cheap local food. Beach is OK, sand rougher here than at other places but still OK.

Arrived on New Years Eve in pouring rain, which luckily stopped before the big party - and it was a fantastic party with great entertainment and stunning firework displays on the beach.

The hotel is placed on the best part of the Chewang Beach. No reef or corals in the water. The beach is very bright on this part, a little further on, there is a very tight tide. The beach is always kept very clean. The facility resembles a palm tree garden. The bungalows are simply arranged and are always clean, except for a couple of geckos now and then. For evening entertainment, there's enough to experience outside the hotel.

The service from the time we entered the lobby was great. A cold towel, a cold drink and an early check-in were most welcome. The staff were always very attentive and available. We stayed in Deluxe rooms and they were great. If you can afford to upgrade to the Beach view or pool view room, please do so - they are really beautiful! The restaurant in the hotel is nice but there are also some other restaurants such as " Eat Sense " which are located nearby.

The Fair House Beach is a beautiful hotel in superb grounds, well maintained and run by friendly staff. We stayed in a superior bungalow which was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in Chaweng Noi, slightly south of the "main strip" of Hat Chaweng, which has a much better beach with more space and privacy. The beach sellers were always friendly and didn't hassle but just smiled and walked on when you said no thanks. The hotel has two small but lovely pools amoungst the trees and gardens. This is an outstanding place to stay, the most relaxing holiday i've ever had, with the great nightlife less than 10 mins by Tuk Tuk or Hotel taxi.

The setting of the resort, with numerous gardens and expensive facilities, was very much conducive to relaxing. The hotel did not try to stear you into purchasing expensive services which was refreshing. The staff was very pleasant and was usaully available when needed.

Only about 100 meters from the beach, 300 to the center of lamai with many bars and small shops. The breakfast is a buffet, selection is decent, though quality is lacking, good thing the choice of food is changed every day. On the downside, path to the bungalows is a steep hill, quality of the room is low, shower in bathroom is not enclosed, so you get the whole place wet, there are barely any shelves to put stuff on. I guess its fine to sleep over, i really didnt feel like laying by the pool or staying in the bungalow much.

This is a great place to stay. The staff is incredibly helpful and always attentive. The location is off the main tourist area, so it is quiet and secluded. It's perfect for a romantic get away. The beach is perhaps not the best, but that is absolutely the only down side, and that is only because of the shallowness of the sea. It's not great for swimming. Of course, there are pools all over the grounds so this isn't a problem. The restaurants are also great for both Thai and other Asian foods. We stayed five days and only once left the grounds of the hotel. Everything necessary for an ideal vacation is present.

I visited this hotel a few years ago and got a fabulous deal - 5 nights for the cost of 4 with a discounted nightly rate. When I arrived at the hotel I asked for an upgrade, and much to my surprise they put us in one of their 2 bedroom villas perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The villa was spectacular. The decor was filled with upscale Thai antiques and the villa included two stories and a huge balcony overlooking the water. The service was spectacular all week. The food was also very good and one night we enjoyed a candlelight bbq on the deck of our villa cooked by one of the many hotel staff. The beach was easy to access down the hill via a golf cart and the hotel lobby and grounds are perched high above the ocean with stunning views of the Ang Thong National National Park below.
